Dr. James Schrenker

Dr. James Schrenker graduated with Honors in Biochemistry from Indiana University in 1989.  He went on to graduate from Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his residency training in Family Medicine at East Tennessee State University at Bristol, TN.

Dr. Schrenker is double boarded as a Family Physician (ABFM) and a Integrative Holistic Physician (ABIHM).  He is also a Certified Medical Director (CMD) and currently serves as Medical Director for Caris Hospice in their Bristol, VA office. 

He founded Integrated Health Concepts in 2005 and Integrated Health Partners in 2013.  Together these groups integrate alternative modalities to enable healing.  He has developed models of practice that have reduced cost while improving outcomes. 

Dr. Schrenker has been a practicing physician for over 25 years in the Bristol area.  He is a dynamic speaker and motivator and has spoken across the country to both conventional and alternative physician groups. 

He has authored two books – “Every Day Lessons” written with his sister, Catherine; mother, Margaret; and family friend, John Dull, in 2005. His most recent book, “Mindful Medicine” is widely regarded as a must-read by anyone searching for a path towards healing.
